Note | When his parents died, he and his sister were taken in by his step brother, Mikko (Kaarina's grandfather). He remained there until 1930. As he grew older, he earned his living at his grandfather's business. This man died in the Winter War, and is buried in the War hero's section of the Orthodox Cemetary in Helsinki (Helsingen Hietaniemen ortodoksiseen sankarhautausmaahan). |
